Indications

The Foresto collar is used for the treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis) type 7 to 8 months. Effectiveness against fleas starts immediately after applying the collar.

Protects the animal's surroundings against the development of flea larvae for up to 8 months. The Foresto antiparasitic collar can be used as part of a treatment strategy to combat flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).

The Foresto collar has acarcidal (killing) effect of duration, effectiveness against tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Dermacentor reticulatus) and repellent (anti-feeding) efficacy against tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) for 8 months. It is effective against larvae, nymphs and adult ticks.

Ticks already present on the dog before treatment cannot be killed within 48 hours after applying the collar and may remain attached and visible. Therefore, removing the ticks already present on the dog at the time of applying the collar is recommended. Prevention of infestations with new ticks begins two days after applying the collar.

For the treatment of infestations with malophagous lice (Trichodectes canis).

Ideally, this Foresto collar should be applied before the beginning of the flea and tick season.

Contraindications.

Puppies less than 7 weeks old will not be treated.

The Foresto collar is not used in case of known hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.

Side effects.

Occasionally slight itching and/or erythema may be observed in animals that are not used to wearing the collar in the first days after application. Make sure the collar is not fastened too tightly. At the application site, slight hair loss and mild skin reactions may occur, which usually disappear within 1 to 2 weeks without the need to remove the collar. In isolated cases, a temporary removal of the collar may be recommended, until the symptoms have disappeared.

If you notice serious reactions or other effects that are not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.
