INDICATIONS: Knot grass has astringent, antidiarrheal, healing, anti-inflammatory and laxative properties and is indicated for intestinal hemorrhage, gastric ulcer, diarrhea, rheumatism and pulmonary tuberculosis.
St. John’s wort is known for its cholagogue action, stimulating digestion; it decreases gastric acidity.
Yarrow is a cure with intestinal anti-inflammatory and colic calming effect.
Calendula has numerous benefits, e.g. in hyperacid gastritis, gastric ulcer or duodenal ulcer.
Plantain leaves contain iridoid, called aucubin, and flavonoids, as well as mucilages, volatile oils and antibiotic substances, phytoncides, phylloquinone, carotenoids and minerals. Plantain is ideal for diarrhea.
Purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) calms spasms and abdominal pain, but also has antibiotic and astringent effects. The antidiarrheal effect is very strong.
Mint is recommended in gastrointestinal infections, abdominal bloating, diarrhea, vomiting and nausea. It is a general stimulant of the digestive function, an intestinal antiseptic, an antidiarrheal, an antispasmodic, an antiemetic, a carminative, a choleretic-cholalogue, a nervine, a diuretic and anti-lithiasic.
Common agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria) is used to treat diarrhea.
Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is used in fermentation colitis, gastrospasm, gastric atony, hypoacid gastritis, intestinal disorders, dysentery and diarrhea.
Cumin (Cuminum cyminum) is a cure for stomach aches, and calms intestinal colic.
Kaolin is rich in aluminum silicates and, when administered as a powder, it has a healing effect, as an antiacid, as an absorbent of intestinal gas and toxic substances.
Used in allopathic medicine, it is beneficial for digestive system disorders: enteritis, fermentation or putrefaction colitis. Kaolin has antiseptic properties and does not exhibit the drawbacks of similar synthetic drugs.
Calcium carbonate is an antacid that buffers gastric acidity, but does not have direct effects on acid secretion. This reaction leads to an increase in the pH of the gastric content.
