Indications:
Espumisan contains the active substance simethicone which belongs to a class of medicines called 'gastrointestinal medicines'.
The active substance, simethicone, disintegrates the gas bubbles accumulated in the stomach and intestines. The gases released from this process can then be eliminated naturally.
Uses:
To treat the symptoms of disorders caused by the accumulation of gas in the stomach or intestines, for example gas accumulation (flatulence) or flatulence and feeling full.
For the preparation of diagnostic examinations of the stomach and intestines, for example X-ray and ultrasound.
Espumisan is indicated for children from 6 years old, adolescents and adults.
Method of administration:
Gastrointestinal disorders caused by the accumulation of gas in the intestine.
Adults and adolescents: the usual recommended dose is 80 mg simethicone (2 Espumisan soft gelatin capsules), administered orally, 3-4 times a day.
Children aged between 6-14 years: the usual recommended dose is 80 mg simethicone (2 Espumisan soft gelatin capsules), administered orally, 3-4 times a day.
It is recommended to take Espumisan during the meal, after the meal or before going to bed.
The duration of administration depends on the evolution of symptoms.
If after 7 days of treatment, the gastrointestinal disorders persist or other disorders appear, the patient should contact the doctor.
If necessary, Espumisan can be administered for a long time.
Preparation for diagnostic examinations of the abdomen: the usual dose is 240 mg of simethicone, 3 times a day, the day before the examination and 80 mg of simethicone in the morning of the day of the examination.
