INDICATIONS: The product OXYTOCIN FP is recommended in the following cases:
Cows, mares, sows, ewes, nanny goats, female dog, cats:
- The elimination of the pathological uterine content (placental retention, lochiometritis, endometritis);
- The induction of uterine involution in animals with uterine hypo- and atony;
- Uterine bleeding;
- Uterine prolapse;
- The induction of parturition, but only after the fetus has engaged in eutocic position.
Cows, sows:
- For milk letdown in case of agalactia (during the first few days after parturition) and mastitis, to empty the sick quarter as fully as possible.
Sows, female dog and cats:
- The induction of parturition.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not administer in case of hypersensitivity to oxytocin or to any of the product excipients.
Do not administer in case of excessive volume of the fetus, dystocia through abnormal presentations and positions, uterine torsion, fetal suffering, toxicosis.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:
After rapid i.v. injection, hypotension may occur.

COMPOSITION:
1 ml of solution contains:
Active substance:
Oxytocin………………………………………………………….10 IU
Excipients:
Chlorobutanol……………………………………………………5 mg
 

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:

Administer the product intramuscularly, subcutaneously, intramurally or intravenously, as follows:
I. For intramuscular, subcutaneous and intramural administration, the recommended doses depending on the body weight of the animals are:
- Cows: 40 – 60 IU of active substance/animal (4 – 6 ml of product/animal);
- Mares: 30 – 40 IU of active substance/animal (3 – 4 ml of product/animal);
- Ewes and nanny goats: 15 – 20 IU per animal (1.5 – 2 ml of product/animal);
- Sows: 20 – 40 IU of active substance/animal (2 – 4 ml of product/animal);
- Female dog: 2 – 10 IU of active substance/animal (0.2 – 1 ml of product/animal);
- Cats: 1 – 10 IU of active substance/animal (0.1 – 1 ml of product/animal).
If the animals do not show any improvement in their health, consult the veterinarian for a reassessment of the diagnosis.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Cows, mares, sows, ewes, nanny goats: Meat and offal – zero days. Milk – zero days. Female dog, cats: Not applicable.

PRECAUTIONS AND SPECIAL INDICATIONS

STORAGE:
Keep out of the reach of children. Store at temperatures lower than 25°C. Keep away from direct light and frost. Keep in a dry place. Keep in the original packaging, tightly closed.
