Stimulating lactation Mom and Baby, G85

Properties:

Supports milk secretion in nursing mothers.

Ingredients/capsules:

- fenugreek seeds (Trigonellae foenugraeci semen) 115.9 mg;

- cumin fruits (Cumini fructus) 114 mg;

- lemon balm (Melissae herba) 76 mg;

- galium veri herba (Galii veri herba) 68.4 mg;

- fennel essential oil (Foeniculi aetheroleum) 3.8 mg;

- anise essential oil (Anisi aetheroleum) 1.9 mg.

Fenugreek, highly appreciated by Hippocrates, the Greeks and Romans, is one of the oldest plants useful for human health. It was used by Indian women to stimulate lactation. Modern studies have shown that the use of fenugreek seeds significantly increased the volume of breast milk after 24-72 hours after starting the treatment. "Most mothers have found that the seed diet can be discontinued once milk production is stimulated to an appropriate level, and is usually maintained as long as breast stimulation is sufficient and emptying continues." (Huggins).

Caraway fruits , similar to those of cumin, act as a galactogogue in nursing mothers; cumin also helps to eliminate digestive discomfort.

Lemon balm has a calming effect, useful for relaxing the mother, and for optimizing contractions of intestinal smooth muscles, favoring the elimination of gases. In addition, the active substances in lemon balm pass into the milk, helping to reduce abdominal discomfort in infants.

Sanziene , in the Norwegian tradition, had to be worn by nursing mothers to protect their milk; the plant has a diuretic and depurative effect, helping to purify the mother's body.

Fennel and anise essential oils stimulate glandular secretions, including milk secretion in nursing mothers.
