Leaflet Surolan otic solution
Indications: it is used in dogs and cats in the treatment of otitis externa and dermatitis caused by:
- fungi (microsporum spp, trichophyton spp, candida spp, massezia pachydermatis)
- gram-positive bacteria (staphylococcus spp, streptococcus spp)
- gram-negative bacteria (pseudomonas spp, eschrichia coli)
Method of presentation: Surolan is a suspension that contains:
- miconazole nitrate 23 mg/ml
- polmyxin B sulfate 5500 IU (0.696 mg / ml)
- prednisolone acetate 5 mg/ml
Counter indications:
- It is not used in animals with a perforated eardrum because polymyxin B has an ototoxic effect.
- It can also be used in pregnant and lactating animals.
Dosage and method of administration:
For otitis externa:
- After cleaning the ear, apply 3-5 drops of Surolan otic solution in the ear 2 times/day.
- To ensure proper penetration, massage the ear at the base.
For dermatitis:
- Surolan is applied to the affected area by bandaging 2 times a day.
