Properties:
- indicated in the treatment of most forms of constipation;
- for emptying and preparing the intestine for examination or / and preoperatively or in other situations where they are required;
- as an adjuvant in conditions in which the effort and pain associated with defecation should be avoided;
Action:
Senosides (active principles):
- increase the motility of the large intestine, acting directly on the lining of the colon;
- inhibits the reabsorption of water and electrolytes (Na+, Cl-) in colonic epithelial cells;
- stimulates intraluminal secretion of water and electrolytes, accelerating transit at the curves and junctions of the large intestine;
- regulates intestinal transit approximately 6-8 hours after oral administration (elimination of 1-2 soft or semi-liquid stools).
Benefits:
- stimulant laxatives are considered to have superior efficacy to other types of laxatives;
- indicated in all forms of constipation: acute, chronic, primary (idiopathic), functional, habitual, secondary to certain diseases in the digestive sphere, induced by drugs (iron-based, calcium in high doses, opioids, narcotics), consecutive to bed immobilization;
- in high doses, at the indication of the health specialist, it can also be used as a purgative for emptying and preparing the intestine in case of radiological or / and preoperative examination, acute constipation, poisoning and administration of anthelmintics (when the elimination of intestinal worms should be hastened);
- natural product (senna fruit dry extract) with a long history of use for medicinal purposes;
- because it acts in the colon, does not influence the processes of digestion and absorption of nutrients that take place in the small intestine;
- easy administration in the evening – unlike suppositories, enemas.
Directions for use:
Adults, elderly, adolescents over 12 years:
1-2 cpr. / day along with liquids, preferably at bedtime, to get a soft / semi-liquid stool during the next morning.
The duration of self-medication is recommended to be a maximum of 14 days to avoid the risk of addiction, treatment can be resumed after a break of 1-2 weeks.
Ingredients:
Senna fruit dry extract (Cassia acutifolia) standardized to a minimum of 20% senosides (equivalent to 20 mg B senosides).
