Purpose: Dermatocosmetic shampoo for dogs and cats prone to bacterial or fungal dermatitis. It can be used as a support therapy for skin conditions caused by bacteria and fungi. It cleans the skin and maintains an adequate pH.
Use: Water the fur with warm water and apply a small amount of shampoo. Massage for about 5 min. Protect the eyes and ears of the animal during bathing. Rinse carefully. Repeat if necessary.
The action of the active substances:
Chlorhexidine gluconate (2%)- Organic chemical compound. Used in the formula gluconate or acetate acts strongly against GRAM+ bacteria and less on GRAM-bacteria. Chlorhexidine is active against GRAM + and GRAM- bacteria, aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and yeasts. It is especially active against Gram + bacteria (in concentrations of ≥ 1 mg / l) I in the case of Fungi and Bacteria Gram - the necessary concentrations are higher: between 10- 73 mg / ml. Like other cationic substances, Chlorhexidine is not absorbed by the skin - it remains at its level.
Ketoconazole (1%)- Ketoconazole- antifungal organic compound from the group of azoles. Spectrum of action on dermatophytes, yeasts and polymorphic fungi. Its mechanism of action consists in blocking the biosynthesis of ergosterol in cell membranes by stopping the formation of methylate-lanosterol (C14- lanosterol demethylase). The consequence of changing the permeability of the cell wall is the death of the cells that make up the fungi. Ketoconazole with topical action (e.g.: crème, ointments, shampoos) can be used with confidence because the amount absorbed into the skin is very low in these forms of presentation.
